Giant Steps

Under the umbrella of Giant Steps, we provide curated conversations for creative entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial creatives in a human and encouraging atmosphere and connect them to ideas, people, opportunities, and resources.

Giant Steps annual conference

Since 2010, we’ve been hosting in-person conversations between artists and entrepreneurs at our annual Giant Steps conferences. We started these conferences because we knew artists and entrepreneurs shared many common challenges and experiences. We also knew—in the face of rapidly-changing landscapes—we could all learn faster if we learned from each other. You can learn more about our conferences at GiantStepsMN.com.

Giant steps Radio

Each week, Giant Steps leader and co-founder Susan Campion hosts a radio show featuring in-depth conversations with artists and entrepreneurs from our Giant Steps family. The radio show allow us to delve deeper into Giant Steps conversations and topics, especially the experiences and lessons of path-forging individuals—moving beyond discussing what they do, and moving into understanding why they do what they do and how they do it. Giant Steps Radio airs every week at 2PM CT on Fridays and replays at 11AM CT on Sundays on KRSM. You can listen at 98.9FM in Minneapolis, krsmradio.org worldwide or on the KRSM app.

Community and Events

In addition to the annual conference, we put on one-time events that support creative entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial creatives. In some cases, by providing additional information to apply to their businesses and their work. And in other cases, by supporting and sponsoring events and work from members of our Giant Steps community—from film screenings to live painting to one-act theater pieces to historical audio drama listening sessions and more. The right combination of mission + values + Giant Steps fam has led to many enriching learning and connecting experiences.

Check out of few of the projects we’ve sponsored and/or hosted:

Action Kommandant (documentary, South Africa)

The Weeksville Project Listening Sessions (audio drama, Brooklyn)

Giant Steps Fam at Strike Theater: PHD (Po H# on Dope) to Ph. D.: How Education Saved My Life + Resister’s Handbook (two one-act plays, Minneapolis)

Artist Talk + Live Painting with Collin Sekajugo (Uganda/Kenya) to benefit Rwa Makondera Children’s Dance Troupe (Rwanda) and Books for Africa
