FoundeR, Camponovo Consulting

She/Her/Hers

Susan Campion, the founder and president of Camponovo, is a creative and innovative change agent who works with leaders of businesses and organizations to crystallize, plan, and execute emerging strategies. She specializes in bringing disparate groups and individuals together to deliver outstanding results. She’s a motivating leader who is comfortable working across cultures, in diverse industries and organizations, and in complex and rapidly-changing environments.

Susan believes the inspiration for advancing organizations can be found in many places; and that businesses succeed by working with the imagination and talents of their people.

As a founder of Giant Steps, Susan is creating a community for learning and innovation by bringing together path-forgers from the entrepreneurial and artistic communities. From an idea developed with Ghanaian hip hop artist, M.anifest, she’s created a forum for exchanging ideas, tools, and experiences; for fostering innovative and “unlikely” collaborations; and for constructively blurring the boundaries between business and art.

Susan is an adjunct faculty member at the University of St. Thomas, where she teaches courses in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Lean concepts and deployment, and managing change in the Opus College of Business. She’s also adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota, where she teaches in the Arts and Culture Leadership program.  Outside of the universities, she spends time advising and mentoring young artists and entrepreneurs.

Prior to starting Camponovo Consulting, Susan worked for 3M for twelve years, where she held management positions in Italy, France and the United States.

Susan holds an M.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY), a B.S. in Mathematics from the College of William and Mary (VA), and has completed additional course work in Stanford University’s executive education program. She’s been implementing and teaching Lean concepts and tools for over 25 years and is also a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

As a global citizen who’s lived in five countries and traveled to many more, she’s been collecting innovative ideas, inspiring examples, and good music from all over the world.
